I am going to be working at a day care center this summer, should I ask how much I'll get paid?

I am 17 years old, and will start working at a day care center next week. I went there yesterday to see what I will be doing and my mom asked me if I asked her how much I will get paid and I said no. I just want to know if I should ask my boss how much I should get paid or just wait?
