Does it hurt when your cherry pops?

I am 13, I use tampons, which I heard make it not hurt so bad the first time you have sex. I was just wondering how bad it hurts. I don't plan on having sex yet, so don't worry about how immoral it is for 13 year old to even consider having sex. I am just curious.
